Juke Box Blues
Juke Box Music/The Last Real Texas Blues Band (2CD) Juke Box Music/The Last Real Texas Blues Band (2CD)
Queen: The Life and Music of Dinah Washington Dinah Washington sang pop, jazz, R&B, and gospel, but post of all she sang the blues--"Maybe I'm a Fool" and "I Wanna Be Loved" and "Muddy Water" and (of course) "What a Difference a Day Makes" and countless others--all in a distinctive a honey-and-vinegar voice that made everything she sang unmistakably her own. Dubbed both the Queen of the Blues and the Queen of the Juke Box, Dinah Washington had a short life, but a supremely eventful one, packed with songs, shows, lovers, and husbands. Controversial to the critics of her time, vastly influential to the next generation of singers, Washington will always be remembered for a life that was, first and foremost, music.
Juke Box Records - Juke Box Records was the first label of Art Rupe, launched in 1946. He renamed the label to Specialty Records. Juke Box Jury - Juke Box Jury was a pop themed panel show, originally produced by BBC television from 1959-1967. The Yellow Clearance Black Box Blues - The Yellow Clearance Black Box Blues was one of the first true missions for the Paranoia role-playing game. It was written by John M. Crossroads (box set) - Including both his band work (with the Yardbirds, John Mayall's Blues Breakers, Cream, Blind Faith, Delaney and Bonnie, and Derek and the Dominos) and his long, varied solo career, this four-CD set does a spectacular job in gathering several decades' worth of Clapton's best. There are the requisite classics--"Layla," "Blues Power," "After Midnight," "Further On Up the Road," "Crossroads," and "I Shot the Sheriff," among many others--some of them in previously unreleased live or alternate studio recordings.
