Electrical Software Tool
Introductory to Physics and Simulation of Semiconductor Optoelectronic Devices by Joachim Piprek, Optoelectronics has become an important part of our lives. Wherever light is used to transmit information, tiny semiconductor devices are needed to transfer electrical current into optical signals and vice versa. Examples include light emitting diodes in radios and other appliances, photodetectors in elevator doors and digital cameras, and laser diodes that transmit phone calls through glass fibers. Such optoelectronic devices take advantage of sophisticated interactions between electrons and light. Nanometer scale semiconductor structures are often at the heart of modern optoelectronic devices. Their shrinking size and increasing complexity make computer simulation an important tool to design better devices that meet ever rising perfomance requirements. The current need to apply advanced design software in optoelectronics follows the trend observed in the 1980's with simulation software for silicon devices. Today, software for technology computer-aided design (TCAD) and electronic design automation (EDA) represents a fundamental part of the silicon industry. In optoelectronics, advanced commercial device software has emerged recently and it is expected to play an increasingly important role in the near future. This book will enable students, device engineers, and researchers to more effectively use advanced design software in optoelectronics.
Communication System Design Using Dsp Algorithms by Steven A. Tretter, Designed for senior electrical engineering students, thistextbook explores the theoretical concepts of digital signalprocessing and communication systems by presenting laboratoryexperiments using real-time DSP hardware. The experiments are designedfor the Texas Instruments TMS320C6701 Evaluation Module or TMS320C6711DSK but can easily be adapted to other DSP boards. Each chapter beginswith a presentation of the required theory and concludes withinstructions for performing experiments to implement the theory. Inthe process of performing the experiments, students gain experience inworking with software tools and equipment commonly used inindustry. The primary focus of this book is on communication systems. Algorithmsthat are particularly suited to DSP implementations are presented.Chapters 1 and 2 introduce the software and hardware tools. Chapter 3presents FIR and IIR digital filters and Chapter 4 investigates theFFT. Chapters 4 through 8 discuss modulators and demodulators forclassical analog modulation methods such as amplitude modulation (AM), double-sideband suppressed-carrier amplitude modulation (DSBSC-AM), single sideband modulation (SSB), and frequency modulation (FM).Chapter 9 through 16 explore digital communication methods leading tothe implementation of a complete telephone-line modem. These chaptersinclude shift register pseudo-random binary sequence generators, theRS-232 protocol, pulse amplitude modulation (PAM), quadratureamplitude modulation (QAM) transmitters and receivers, and echocancellation. Methods for adaptive equalization, carrier recovery, andsymbol clock tracking are presented. Chapter 17 gives suggestions foradditional experiments.
Alma (software tool) - Alma is a software workshop for modeling and analyzing. It gives a programmer the ability to manipulate and generate source code. UML tool - A UML tool is an application software that supports some or all parts of the processes or the creation of the artifacts described in the software industry standard Unified Modeling Language (UML), which is used in the field of software engineering. CAST tool - CAST tools are software applications used in the process of software testing. The acronym stands for "Computer Aided Software Testing". Utility software - Utility software (also known as software utilities, service program, service routine, tool, or utility routine) is a type of computer software that is designed to help manage and tune the computer hardware, operating system or application software and perform a single task or a small range of tasks; as opposed to application software which tend to be software suites. Utility software has long been integrated into most major operating systems.
